In what is a plus for Nigerians, the economy, and, of course, President Jonathan’s administration, Nissan launched today, May 29, 2014 its first SUVs assembled in Nigeria.
The launch of the ‘Made-in-Nigeria’ SUVs was part of the Democracy Day celebrations held at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock.

World Cup 2014: Indomitable Lions to get N16.64m each

Cameroon’s Foot-ball Federation and the country’s government have agreed to pay FCFA 50m (US$104,000) to each player in the final 23-man World Cup squad.
The figure was arrived at after lengthy negotiations but falls short of the FCFA 80m-100m ($166,000-207,000) reportedly sought by the players.
It is, however, a raise of FCFA 5m from the amount paid at the previous World Cup in south Africa in 2010.

NEWS:- #BringBackOurGirls: Rival women groups clash in Abuja

There was fracas at the Unity Fountain in Abuja Wednesday where a coalition of women groups under the umbrella of #Bringbackourgirls” have been protesting against the abduction of over 200 school girls from Chibok in Borno State since last Month.
Vanguard learnt that the fracas occurred as a result of rivalry between the #Bringbackourgirls group and a new group named “#ReleaseOurGirlsNow”.  Members of #Bringbackourgirls have been involved in the protest which has already gained global attention since it commenced several weeks ago.
Unconfirmed sources told Vanguard that the clash was serious necessitating the invitation of the the police.

NEWS:- Boko Haram: Boy confesses to razing houses in Borno village for N2,000

A young man, named, Ibrahim Tilitili was said to have been paid the sum of two thousand Naira (N2,000), to burn down few houses at Mandara Girau village in Biu local government area of Borno state.
Ibrahim, Chibok by tribe and resident of Mandara Girau village confessed that one Mallam Sani also a resident of the Village gave him the amount and instructed him to set some of the houses in the village on fire.

IBB’s foster mother dies at 101

The foster mother of former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida,Hajiya Sefiya Hassan Akere is dead.She died on Thursday at the age of 101 after a brief illness.
